2563 Buddha Jayanti namely Baishak Purnima is celebrated yearly in Nepal to mark the birth of Siddhartha Gautam. Siddharth Gautam also known as Lord Buddha was born 253 years ago in Lumbini Nepal. On this day he had acquired knowledge and Mahapari Deshavanan.
Siddhartha, born in the form of King Suddhodan and Queen Maya Devi‘s son, went to search for solitaire knowledge, at the age of 29.
After 6 years of meditation, Siddhartha Gautam got wisdom in Baishak Shukla Purnima, full moon day in Bodhgaya, India, after gaining wisdom, he found world fame as Lord Buddha.
In Baishak Shukla Purnima, both Hindu and Buddhist followers worship Buddha and celebrate Buddha Jayanti. Various programs are organized on this day in Buddhist Shrine in different parts of Nepal.
The followers of Buddha religion and Gautam Buddha, have spread across India, including Nepal, India, China, Sri Lanka, Burma, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, Vietnam, Bhutan, Japan, Mongolia, Korea etc.
